Remembering Chris Bieszczad

Advocate, Girl Dad, Friend

In July 2025, we lost our dear friend and colleague, Chris Bieszczad. Chris served as a Case Manager for the Court-Appointed Special Advocates for six years, bringing wit and humor to his work.

In honor of his dedication to CASA, and in service of his legacy, this year’s CARE-ing for CASA event is wholly dedicated to Chris.

We hope you will join us in remembering a tremendous advocate and dear friend.

WHAT IS A COURT APPOINTED SPECIAL ADVOCATE (CASA)?

CASA volunteers are appointed by the court to advocate for the best interests of children in foster care. CASAs remain with each case until it is closed and the child is placed in a safe, permanent home. CASAs are volunteers who work with legal and child welfare professionals, educators, and service providers to ensure that the court has all the information they need to make the most well-informed decisions for each child. For many of the children we work with, their Advocate will be the one constant in an otherwise chaotic life. The CASA helps ensure that children are safe and have the opportunity to thrive.
