Circle of Friends is one of the most important and well attended events in support of CARE House and the over 8,000 children and families we serve each year. It’s a special day where the community comes together to show their support and raise funds for the thousands of children who need help to prevent abuse or gain healing intervention and treatment after experiencing abuse. 300 people from Oakland County attend the event in order to hear stories that are often kept quiet. CARE House of Oakland County is an advocate for the safety of all children, and a leading resource in the prevention of child abuse, and the protection of children through intervention, treatment, education, training and research.
In his candid personal memoir, REWIND, Sasha Joseph Neulinger revisits his childhood and the events that tore apart his seemingly-perfect world. Drawing upon an incredibly revealing home video archive, Neulinger revisits these events 20 years later to piece together an unflinching story of the cycles and consequences of abuse, to examine what it means to heal, and to use those experiences to effect positive change in the world. REWIND had its US Television Premiere on May 11, 2020 as a part of PBS’ Independent Lens lineup, where the film reached 280 Million households nationwide. REWIND was nominated for a Critics Choice Award for Best First Feature Documentary, and received 3 Emmy Nominations, including Outstanding Social Issue Documentary, Outstanding Direction, and Outstanding Editing. Sasha is the Founder and President of Voice For The Kids, and Co-Founder and Head of Production at Step 1 Films.
