Lesson Two - Introduction
Abuse can be difficult to define because it varies from child to child. Children can be victimized in many different ways: physically, sexually, by neglect, kidnapping and homicide. It will look different each time you see it. Children can be victimized by a variety of people family members, caretakers, friends, acquaintances and strangers. Trauma is not limited to direct injury from abuse: children may be traumatized by being an eyewitness to crime, violence, and homicide.
