Objective Our
objective is to provide valuable information so
that you may report child abuse and neglect accurately and in a
timely fashion under the law. Upon completion of this program you
should be able to understand the Michigan Child Protection Law,
identify the four major types of abuse, identify the physical and
behavioral indicators of each kind of abuse, and understand your
obligations and protection under Michigan law. By increasing
your awareness and understanding of this process, we hope that your comfort and
confidence level about the mandated reporting process will increase.
There are five steps in our training process. First is
the Pre-Test. This will allow you to gauge your knowledge prior
to the training. After the Pre-Test, there are three
training lessons which cover the Law, Types of Abuse, and Child
Protective Service Response. We encourage you to take your time with each lesson, so that you fully understand the content. Once you have
finished the lessons, there is a Post-Test and upon successful completion of the post-test, you may print out your certificate of completion.
