Introduction
You, as a professional who works with children, play a pivotal role in bringing children to safety when you report suspected child abuse and neglect. In your role as a “mandated reporter” you join thousands of other professionals in this country who must report to protect children and prevent further abuse. Reporting child abuse and neglect should not be viewed as an accusation, but as advocating for a child and his or her family. CARE House is aware that many of you may have various levels of knowledge regarding your legal responsibility as a mandated reporter. So, in conjunction with a grant from Microsoft, CARE House has developed this web-based training program in order to inform you of the Mandated Reporting law, the types of child abuse, and how your report is handled.
