40 years of helping children.

Even in light of the enormity of the problem, it may be surprising to learn just how much of it is happening in our own backyard. In fact, Michigan ranks second in the country for rates of human trafficking. It happens in our bigcities and in our smallercommunities, and victims represent each race and ethnicity.

CARE House is a part of the effort to help human trafficking victims, and we see cases of child labor and sex exploitation for forensic interviews and therapy. We also served on the 2016 Oakland County Human Trafficking Task Force to help evaluate existing services for trafficking victims, and to make suggestions for new ones. As the market for human commercial exploitation continues to grow, though, so must our response, as individuals and organizations.
