Volunteer:

CARE House Volunteers are special people who give the precious gift of time to make a difference in the life of a child. Without the thousands of hours contributed each year by its volunteers, far fewer children and families would be served. There are many volunteer opportunities at CARE House of Oakland County.

Stories:

There are countless stories of the children who have come to CARE House for hope and healing. These are stories of children who have found a safe place where their voices can be heard and believed. They are stories of courage overcoming fear, of pride overcoming shame. Each story is as unique as each child. Each journey has its own path.

At a PRIDE Training session on 10/14/11 I met a couple looking to adopt.  They have previously made attempts to adopted from another country and have had difficulties.  They have been visiting the MARE site and are now pursuing adopting a local child.  The have a 12 year boy of their own and would like to expand their family and can not have any more children on their own.  They feel the ideal for their family would be a boy around age 7 with minimal to no impairment needs.  They would also consider a girl.

During the PRIDE training Cheryl had asked if any of us knew of any children not yet listed on MARE and I mentioned our message board and they were all for me posting something on their behalf.
